John began his career in the finance sector, holding key executive roles at JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, Skandia, and Bank America Capital Management Group, before dedicating his life’s work to building mission-centric businesses.
As a graduate of New York University Stern School of Business and the MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program at MIT Sloan School of Management, he developed a knack for leadership and innovation which led him to focus on solving pressing problems being faced by society and business.
John was part of the founding team of the Extreme Tech Challenge led by renowned Venture Capitalist Bill Tai and Richard Branson. His responsibility was to help find and curate the best startups globally to enter the competition. From its inception back in 2015 the Extreme Tech Challenge has grown to become one of the largest startup competitions in the world with over 3.4B raised by finalists from 2015-2022.

John is the Founder and CEO of Kingsland University – a mission-driven company dedicated to helping those in need of a career change gain access to the most in-demand highest-paying job fields (cybersecurity, tech sales, software development, and blockchain engineering). Under his leadership, Kingsland University has helped thousands of students obtain a clear pathway to prosperity via education. 78% of Kingsland students identify as coming from traditionally marginalized and underserved communities. Kingsland has enabled high-potential students access to its programs so that there are no financial barriers to overcome.
Through his work in Education, John is focused on actively solving one of the most important societal issues of today: eliminating barriers for Americans to break through their challenges and find hope in a better future.
John is also the Founder and CEO of Reliant Health Services – a mission-driven endeavor recently focusing on addressing the impact of COVID-19 to at-risk populations. In March of 2020 when COVID made its initial impact on the United States John leaped into action and became a founding member of the Global Health Crisis Coordination Center with the CDC Foundation and many other large enterprise companies to lend a hand and help strategize on the best ways to respond to the impending needs necessary to properly combat the illness. Working across the sector, John helped build a lab testing network capable of administering over 50,000 daily COVID-19 tests with 24-48 hours turnaround.
John’s work with Reliant focuses on making an impact on human lives by moving beyond the politics and prejudices of the healthcare sector, to bring meaningful results, caring support, and practical solutions quickly to Americans in need. Reliant Health Services has continued to operate a no cost COVID-19 testing center in the City of Hawthorne, California, a city consisting of over 81% of its population identifying as economically disadvantaged.
